Funeral Etiquette

One of the most difficult aspects of attending a funeral is knowing what to say to the deceased’s family and how to say it. Unless you have been personally requested to speak by the family, no one expects you to say more than a few brief and sincere words. What you should say is dependant on your personal relationship with the deceased and their surviving family members. 

There is currently no one set dress code for funerals and the events surrounding them. This is because there are many factors to consider, like what type of service it will be, where it will be located and even what time of year the service will take place. This makes it difficult to create a general list of requirements. That being said, there are some guidelines that, if followed, can help you avoid any wardrobe miscues.
