What legally needs to be done when a death occurs
When someone has passed away, their affairs are not just suddenly wrapped up and finalized. Even those who are extremely prepared leave plenty behind for their loved ones to do. From the getting the death certificate to finalizing the will, there are so many things we just take for granted until we have to do them. One example of this includes organizing the financial affairs of the deceased. This often involves working directly with banks, credit card companies and can even involve various debtors to whom the deceased owed money. It is not always difficult, but it still needs to be done. The same goes for memberships the deceased had or organizations they were a part of - some of these are simply subscriptions that will eventually cancel themselves but others may have required more extensive involvement and will need to be notified of the death. Below you will find some guidance for the legal side of dying that not enough people talk about. We're happy to provide you with this often overlooked part of death care.
